Applications

PyroGel is a UV cured hydrogel interlayer with intumescent properties allowing for easy, environmentally friendly, and low energy production of various fire-resistant glazing meeting various global fire standards including British Standards (BS), European Norms (EN), and American Standards (ASTM/UL).

Our gel when injected between panes of glass reacts and absorb the heats emitted during intense fire, thereby preventing spread of fire and smoke for the designed period allowing time for occupants to escape to safety.

Production process is extremely simple and require minimal investment in terms of equipment and production area. Our production process is highly energy efficient and consist of the following process:

  • Glass cleaning
  • Glazing of tempered clear float glass
  • Degassing of PyroGel
  • Filling of air chamber between panes of glass with PyroGel
  • Sealing of insulated glass unit
  • UV curing at room temperature

PyroGel properties:

  • Temperature stable between -30 to +50 degrees centigrade
  • Density of 1200 kg/cubic meter
  • Visible light transmission of 90% across 10mm of cured PyroGel
  • Zero diffractive distortion of light upon curing
  • Tested to 2000 hours of UV stability
  • One component system
  • Low energy, room temperature curing

PyroGel has numerous proven performance in actual fire test meeting BS/EN standards from EW90 to EI120 as well as equivalent ASTM standard with hose stream test
